BTC Nashville and some music thoughts

Collecting music, like art, like Bitcoin.

Dear friends,

Thank you for the warm reception of last week’s letter. Pleased to see that even after so long, you guys are still eager to follow along and be on this journey with me.

So here I am with another letter for you!

Bitcoin Nashville Week

This week will be very busy and filled with networking, live music, building and creativity. It is Bitcoin Nashville week, and we are expecting over 30k Bitcoiners and web3 nerds flowing into music city. Exciting.

I will be performing and speaking at events, always on a mission to evangelize more and more people about music on the blockchain.

I know many of you will be in town, so here’s a reminder of where you can find me performing or speaking:

  • Wednesday night, 8 pm, BIT GALA by Forbes @ the Parthenon

See picture and RSVP link above.

And of course you’ll be seeing me running around town filming content, networking, or sipping orange drinks at after parties.

Collecting music, like art.

Yes dear friends. That’s still the goal. You may wonder why I am so involved in the Bitcoin and Ordinals scene.

Well, for the past year, I’ve been inscribing songs of mine on Bitcoin as Ordinal 1/1s. I strongly believe that one day, people won’t flinch at the idea of music being collected just like paintings. However, in a world where digital ownership doesn’t matter, and streaming is what we are fed daily, it is virtually impossible to own a song. Songs are ephemeral. Songs are intangible. Music is the most immaterial form of art, therefore the one that most deeply connects with human feelings, but also the one that is most difficult to quite literally, hold.

When I first learned about Ordinals, I realized that was my chance to finally attach music to something that is not made up. Let me explain. When you create an inscription (Ordinal), you quite literally attach a piece of media to a piece of Bitcoin. You link your content directly and immutably to a satoshi, making it forever market with your art.

So I did it with 4 songs over the past year. It was challenging due to file size restrictions native to the Bitcoin blockchain, and led to really high inscription fees (thousands of dollars). But you would tell me it isn’t worth the challenge to have your songs untouchable and tied to Bitcoin forever?

I happened to be the first singer songwriter to inscribe full length original song + artwork on Bitcoin. Proud moment.

You can read my medium article on my first inscription 10 YEARS, and view the ordinal on this link: https://medium.com/@violettazironimusic/how-i-inscribed-a-full-length-song-on-btc-ordinals-10-years-to-eternity-dc4af4475e57

I will leave you with that song. A song that expresses gratitude for my 10 year journey as an independent songwriter.

Thank you once again for reading dear friends.
As always, you can stay updated daily on my X and Discord.

Til next week,

Violetta
